St Julian's Methodist Church Hall


We teach at St Julian's Methodist Church Hall, Caerleon Road, St Julian's, Newport, Gwent NP19 7JT on Tuesday evenings in term time from 7:00 to 9:00. Please check the notices on our home page for changes and cancelations.

St Julian's Methodist Church is a large red brick building on Caerleon Road opposite the shops on that road, about half a km from the M4 junction 25. The junction has limited access, coming from Cardiff you need to leave at junction 26 and follow the signs for Caerleon. Head towards Newport when you get to the the motorway roundabout.

The Picton Arms

The First Friday session is held on the first Friday of every month (with occasional changes) except August. We start at 8:30 with the first 45 minutes or so reserved as a beginners session, slowed down and suitable for all ages and abilities.Even though things heat up afterwards the session remains a good family affair.

Held in the Picton Arms we have use of a separate room away from regular custom though people are welcome the watch (and join in) if they wish.

The Red Lion, Stow Hill


The Red Lion, 47 Stow Hill, Newport NP20 1JH.

This is now a regular session in the bar of the Red Lion on Stow Hill, starting at 9:00 p.m. going on until late. All are welcome, but this is not such a traditional evening and expect a lot of singing of Irish and non-Irish songs to which the regulars like to join in!
