Amairgin the Gael: Traditional Irish Music and Dance in Newport, South Wales.

Amairgin the Gael is the only branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in Wales.
Our teaching is based in Newport and we perform at various venues in the surrounding area.
CLASSES: At St Julian's Methodist Church Hall for all ages and abilities.
SESSIONS: Every first Friday of the month in the Picton Arms (please check before journeying there).

Amairgin the Gael Teaching


We teach traditional Irish music and set dancing on Tuesday nights in term time. Sessions are from 7.00 - 9.00 p.m. at St Julian's methodist church hall on Caerleon Road, Newport. Instruments include whistle, fiddle, button accordion, banjo, flute, guitar, mandolin and bodhran; all ages are catered for.
